CONFUSED BY THE KOMPRESSOR?

Monday, July 28, 2008
The decision by the Terengganu government to replace Proton Perdana with Mercedes E200 Kompressor unearthed many things. One Proton dealer in state was suspended for overcharging and using non-genuine parts. We can understand Proton's concern. What we cannot understand is why Proton Perdana was replaced when "all public officials are to use Proton Perdana".
The Cabinet stuck to this ruling but the Kompressor are still being used.

I am a bit pissed off here. I am usually like that if am sick for over a week. I was rooting for Ahmad Said and gang and was hoping that they will do the right thing for Terengganu. Not understanding Standing Orders and or Treasury Circulars hardly impressed me.

Mercedes E200 Kompressor is a very comfortable car. When I was in Kuantan recently, I was driven around in one by my ex-driver. He owns the Merc. He also owns a few other cars. He left RTM to become a contractor. Now he is a very successful Class C contractor. Maybe politicians should become contractors and choose their own cars.

Maybe an old joke about the Farmers Mercedes can give us an insight into the whole issue:
A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. The horse falls into a mud hole and is sinking. He calls to the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's Mercedes back to the mud hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend, the horse, and drives the car forward saving him from sinking!
A few days later, the chicken and horse were playing in the meadow again and the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken yelled to the horse to go and get some help from the farmer. The horse said, 'I think I can stand over the hole!' So he stretched over the width of the hole and said, 'Grab for my 'thingy' and pull yourself up.' And the chicken did and pulled himself to safety.
The moral of the story:
If you are hung like a horse, you don't need a Mercedes to pick up chicks.

BUSY WEEKS

Sunday, July 20, 2008
In the unlikely event that there are people wondering about my continued existense, let me assure them that I am still around.
I have not been blogging for the last 2 weeks not because I am obedient to our Great Leader who is not blogger-friendly but because my PC refused to boot. I also had to go outstation to celebrate my first station (RTM Pahang) getting a spanking new complex and a state of art auditorium. The air ticket to Kuantan cost me RM10 but the taxi fare was RM100. The LRT didn't start early enough for me to use it to catch the bus to the airport.
The Saturday before my trip to Kuantan, I attended Mimi's performance as Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing". It was heartening to know that a few of my children shares my love for the stage. Mimi is the only one so far to take to the stage as an actor. You can see a video of her acting here.
My grandchildren in Jakarta came back for good two weeks ago. Adam looked very much different from what I remembered him. He warmed my heart when he told me that he is learning the guitar and he likes Santana and also some jazz guitarists. Anyone out there thinking of disposing an electric guitar, please let me know.
A few days ago, the grandchildren from Al Khobar came back. The boys accompanied me to the mosque for Friday prayers. The same day, I got news that my 14th grandchild was born in Bush country.
All the excitement left me drained and tired but not as tired as I am with the current political situation.
As Awang Goneng would say "Doh nok wat guane?"
