MOVING MUJO
I wrote "Mujo" late Friday night and posted it in the first hour of Saturday, 23rd October. Nearly a week later, on October 29th, I saw the post on greasebar's blog. He received it from a friend and did not know then that it was mine. He even asked me via a comment on my doktong post to comment on it. Greasebar later graciously and gentlemanly updated the Mujo post on his blog with a credit and a link to the author. You have my gratitude, greasebar.
By October 31st,
Today and a few days ago, some regular readers of this blog mentioned in their comments that Mujo was circulated via emails. Some came to the Inbox of my daughter Elisa:
Pa,
Your 'mujo' post is being spread around. I've got it twice from 2 different groups of people. Was proud to tell my friends, "Hey, this is my dad's work!"
Some of them want to shake your hand ;)
I had mixed emotions. I am flattered that the piece was deemed fit to be circulated but sad that credit was not given in spite of putting my name and email address on my blog and the Permalink on every post. I was also resigned to the fact that some people regarded copyright notices as mere decorations. I consoled myself that it happened before to far more luminous bloggers than this weird old man. To my knowledge, it happened to TV Smith and Mat Jan (his Samy Vellu song). Both were understandably pissed. I am not pissed if you want to share any of my posts with your friends. Just send them the Permalink or give me credit for my work. It is the polite thing to do. Even pirated VCDs carry credits.
I have since stopped pinging to
To you my readers who left comments now and then, you have my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation. Your attention and comments made everything worthwhile. You kept me blogging, intellectual thefts notwithstanding (if you can call my posts remotely intellectual). Feel free to email posts to your friends as long you do the needful. Link or credit me.
As Beta Blogger succinctly summed it in his email: Doh nok wat guane!

Look into the bright side, Pokku, what is that saying? Copying is the best form of flattery omputeh kata? Though I must say, I would be just as miffed if I found out that my blog entries has been going around without credit to me. I hope this wont make you stop blogging, Pokku. Your blog does not deserve to die an early death :)

Mujo dia hantor e-mel jer, kalu dia repot ke polis mung nok buat guane?. ;-) -
Dear Pok Ku... please continue blogging. I wouldn't know what to do if you did and I lost my daily dose of humorous wisdom.
By DaisyBoo Blacksheep, at 5:56 AM
And to all who dare to plagiarise Pok Ku's work... may all your bits that hang out and can possibly fall off, FALL OFF! Hmph. -
Pok Ku, I also received your Mujo post in my inbox, not once but TWICE!! I replied to my friend (a Teganu lady) and giving the credits to you. Doh yer arr... nok wak guane...

Hi uncle, I got to know your blogs from a friend of mine who informed us that the Mujo article was written by you. Since that day (it's just last week actually), I've received the email thrice and done my bit in mentioning your blog (name, link and all). Pls..pls..don't be intimidated with the plagariser(s), or else I'll die with boredom ;P

Pokku, please be calm... i really hope all of these messes won't make u easily give up. I really need to confess here (even I'm quite new here!) that this blog is really one of a kind. Whenever I logged in, I'll feel like home, eventhough 'dok cari makang di shah alang...' I just realized, this is a good forum to gain and share info, a lot of them available here!!.. As for me, please don't bother the plagiarisme, sebab "orang tetap akang cari permate walaupong ade kace merate-rawe!!" Bak kate orang2 politik, Perjuangang belom selesai Pokku, tapi baru je start... "HIDUP TERANUNG KITE!!!" -mitok maah la banyok kalu tesaloh kate wehh..-

And my inferiority complex becomes worse... :P

Dear Pok Ku,

Sorry to hear about the frustrations about people misusing your post, but you really deserve the credit as your posts are often top notch. Do keep on blogging and I would tell others whom I trust about your site. Do continue as I admit that yours is the only blog to shed light on the place, lifestyles, language and culture of Terengganu, a state which I gather is often misunderstood in the midst of rhetorics between political parties. Everyday I wait with trepedition to see if you've written new materials. As you said, mujo. Mujo Pok Ku, keep on writing and I for one will keep on being an ardent fan of your posts and whatever abuses is heaped on your talent, the rewards for your talent will find their way to you given time :) -

Mujo has become the new web phenomenon. My stats says quite a number of people are actually looking up the word "Mujo" from the seach engines.
p/s - Thanks for your comment. Credit must be given where credit is due. -

Dear Bustamann, I have made a link to your blog regarding Mujo, at first I didn't know who the author was too, Buaya informed me. It's a good entry, with clarity and humour.. very creative.
By Maine, at 1:32 PM -

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" this one I believe was said by Elanor Roosevelt :)
I like this quote too.
Lama dah tak baca blog Pok Ku :) And (eventhough my comment ni dah basi) I did receive your "Mujo" email from a colleague at work, who received it from his MRSM Kuantan yahoogroup :) Of course, there was nothing mentioned about the author of the email.
Do you mind if I link my blog to yours? :) -
Thank you!
